Hi, I'm Sharan! I'm a former east coast-er now enjoying rainy Seattle and documenting my life on here along the way. I love going on hikes, cooking new dishes, traveling and collecting passport stamps, being all doom and gloom about the state of the world, what have you. I also work in cancer research!

I feel like the original internet used to be fun. I was too young to experience it. Everyone had their own home base on the web. Nowadays, it is consolidated onto a small list of social media apps (think Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat, Reddit, etc), which gives these companies a lot of power. They can control what you see, serve you more and more ads to keep increasing profits (remember when YouTube ads used to be short?), influence your political opinion, and just wreak havoc on society to the benefit of the few. The internet is a mess now, infested with AI-generated garbage, enshittified, polarizing.

I made this website to be a breath of fresh air. I write each word myself. It's meant to be a walled garden... a collection of fun, interesting commentary on topics I find worthwhile, a record of hikes I've done and places I've been, a collection of pictures from my life. In the future, I wanna add recipes. And maybe a digital bookshelf with book reviews. Idk. But I do know that it'll all be my own ideas, my own thoughts, my own code.
